Good Morning BALTIMORE!!!!!!!!!

A few weekends ago, Cynthia and I decided to go on a mini adventure to Baltimore. We bought a round trip ticket from Megabus for $16.00 the night before.

The trip to Baltimore was a short 1.5 hours. However, we were dropped off at White Marsh Mall which took another 1 hour trip to Downtown Baltimore in public transportation.

Inner Harbor
They have an excellent Visitor Center with many volunteers to guide you and give you recommendations. There is also plenty of detailed and helpful brochures to keep you busy all day!

It was a beautiful and sunny day
Inner Harbor is a beautiful and picturesque area with restaurants, shopping stores, and landmarks

We toured a Norwegian ship

Ahoy there!

Cynthia and I
This was the day when I realized she was actually a pretty cool person. Just kidding.

Reminds me of home in San Diego
Beautiful city near the waters

So much to see

The National Aquarium
I like the contemporary buildings next to historic buildings

John Hopkins Carey Business School (to the right)

The cute town of Little Italy

Isabella's Brick Oven (5 of 5 stars)
The most delicious and best valued pizza ever

A very small shop that sells home made goodies

Their traditional food attracts many
The service was very prompt- we waited only 15 minutes for our pizza

Menu of pizzas, sandwiches, and deli salads

They definitely need to expand this restaurant
4 tables does not cater to all the customers

Half Prosciutto and Half Sausage - $13.99 for a 14 inch pizza

Super cheesy!
The pizza was served really hot- you can definitely see the cheese still sizzling from the heat. The pizza was extremely good. The crust was thin and had a really nice crisp. The cheese and toppings was very generous too. The only thing I would have to add is that I wish I had order more vegetables to balance all the meat. Overall, EXCELLENT pizza.

Want dessert? Go next door to Vacarro's for home-made sweet treats
So many sweets to choose from

We visited the home of Mary Pickersgill who hand-sew the Star Spangled Banner Flag
The flag pictured above is not the original flag, but it shows the exact huge dimensions.

The Holocaust Memorial was a very small, yet spacious landscape
It's simplicity was very powerful

At the center of the memorial stands this statue that commemorates the pain and cruelty of the Holocaust

City Hall
A beautiful and symmetrical building

The first Washington Monument located on the very beautiful and lively Charles Street

One of the most beautiful architectures I've seen
I could not help but stare at this striking building

I had a wonderful day in Baltimore. Baltimore is a very historic and beautiful city- definitely different from Washington DC. It is definitely a great place for tourists because it is so well organized with the many detailed brochures, self-guided tour guides, and free rides on the Circulator to take you too all the tourist hot spots.
However, I did find the city a little gloomy and secluded. The tall buildings and sky scrapers casts a shadow across the city which makes it feel less welcoming. Cynthia described Baltimore as a "forgotten city". I have to say that it is a great place to visit, but I would probably not want to live there.
